Room Locations

ARC Academic Resource Center (Room #217))

Located on the 2nd floor, this area is staffed by full-time Staff, as well as Student Assistants for tutoring, test taking, assistance with class scheduling and special needs services. Further information is available at: http://www.wingate.edu/academics/academic-resources/academic-resource-center.

* AV Auditorium (Room #111) – Reservation Required (Key Required after 5:00pm)

Located at the end of the hall past the Library Computer Lab. It is equipped with a computer, document camera, LCD and sound system. Large classes and meetings are held in this space (capacity is 89 fixed seating and 1 wheelchair accessible desk). Reservations are made online through Virtual EMS at: https://vems.wingate.edu. Only Faculty/Staff/Approved SI/Student Assistant may check key out.

* Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL - Room #202) – Reservation and Key Required

Located on the 2nd floor, this room is used by the CTL Director for seminars, workshops, and meetings with faculty. Reservations are made online through Virtual EMS at: https://vems.wingate.edu

* Cornwell Conference Room (Room #231) – Reservation and Key Required

Located on the 2nd floor. It is equipped with a computer, document camera, LCD projector, full size projection screen, and sound system. Classes and meetings are held in this space (capacity is 23). Reservations are made online through Virtual EMS at: https://vems.wingate.edu. Only Faculty/Staff/Approved SI/Student Assistant may check key out.

Einstein Bros. Bagels

Located on the first floor adjacent to the Main Circulation Desk and lobby areas.

* Friends of the Library Study Room (Room #113) – Key Required

Room across the hall from the Library Computer Lab with mural. This room can be used for group and/or quiet study. Approximately 6 people can utilize this space, and it is equipped with AV equipment. This room is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Check out time is 3 hours.

* Friends of the Library Group Study Room (Room #110) – Key Required

Also known as The Green Room and located at the end of the hall past the Library Computer Lab. May be used for group and/or quiet study. Approximately 10 people can be accommodated in this room, and it is equipped with AV equipment. This room is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.  Check out time is 3 hours.

Haskins Room (Room #228)

Room located off the Mezzanine area on the 2nd floor.  Capacity is 45 fixed seating.

Individual Study Rooms – Key Required

These are small rooms located down the hall past the Library Computer Lab. There are 12 rooms that will seat 2 people each. These rooms are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.  Check out time is 3 hours.

Information Technology (IT) Help Desk

Located on the first floor adjacent to the Reference Area Commons, the IT Help Desk is staffed with Student Assistants. Offices for the IT Department Staff may be accessed on the 2nd floor at Room #234. Further information is available at: http://helpdesk.wingate.edu/portal/.

* Library Computer Lab (Room #104)

Room located near the Einstein Bros. Café.  Equipped with 12 computers for individual use, or for group use as a multimedia classroom. It is equipped with an LCD projector and DVD/VHS players. Reservations are made online through Virtual EMS at: https://vems.wingate.edu.

* Mary Ann Kincaid Children’s Reading Room (Room #227) – Key Required

Room located off Haskins Room on 2nd floor.  Houses all “JUV” and “YGA” books.  Approximately 10 people can be accommodated in this space, and it is equipped with AV equipment.  This room is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.  Check out time is 3 hours.

Mezzanine (Room #229)

Large open area on 2nd floor that extends over the Reference area. Capacity is approximately 75 seated.

Quiet Room (Room #230)

This space is located on the 2nd floor off the Mezzanine and is used for quiet, individual study. Capacity is 24 fixed seating and 1 wheelchair accessible desk. No talking is allowed in this area.

* Reference Area Commons

Located on the first floor, this area is equipped with 25 OPAC computers (includes 1 wheelchair accessible terminal), 2 LCD projectors, and 2 full size projection screens. This area houses all Reference materials used only within the Library. Research/OPAC computers are available in this area. Library Instruction classes may be taught in this area.  Classes may be requested online through the Reference and Instruction Librarian at http://libguides.wingate.edu/profile.php?uid=108785.

Writing Center (Room #216)

 Located on the 2nd floor in the ARC, this area is equipped with 22 computers for tutoring and writing workshops. Further information is available at:  http://www.wingate.edu/academics/academic-resources/writing-center.
