Library Assistant Job Description
When posted, the Ethel K. Smith Library seeks responsible students to fill positions as Library Assistants. Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA, be able to work 7-10 hours/week, including some nights/weekends; must work modified schedule during exam week. Job duties include: greet, direct, and assist patrons; maintain strict confidentiality with all Library records; charge/discharge/shelve items at Circulation and Reference Desks; provide printing assistance and instruction; perform laminating, binding, and copying services; gather and maintain patron statistics; special projects as needed. Assistants must possess mature work habits, project a helpful and courteous attitude, and maintain the accuracy and integrity of the Library’s collections.
