Gale's Literary Index

To use the Index, search by author or title in Gale's Literary Index below. When you search by author, the results page provides an initial list of Gale sources providing information on the author, then provides a list of Gale sources providing information on each title by that author.

In the sample citation below, the number in bold typeface indicate the volume and the numbers in regular typeface indicate the page numbers:

Contemporary Literary Criticism, volume(s) 254:41-66, 68

Gale sources provide excerpts as well as the full text of critical essays. If at all possible use essays that have been reprinted in full rather than just excerpts.

All of the titles in the Sampling of Gale Sources box are available in the Reference section, but for other titles you will need to search the online catalog to see if it is held by the library and what the call number and location are.

If you need help using any of the library's resources, just ask a librarian. We'll be glad to help!
